    Meeting Summary:

    Join Elizabeth Evans of Jackson Lewis as she reviews critical changes in business immigration and employer compliance over the past year. In his first 16 months in office, President Donald Trump has made immigration a critical priority. He has issued Executive Orders focusing on protecting U.S. workers and dis-incentivizing employment of immigrants and undocumented workers alike. All employers are affected by the Trump Administration’s immigration compliance and enforcement agenda. We’ll talk about the current trends in this new era of increased I-9 audits and worksite compliance enforcement.  We will also dive into the new battles employers are facing in securing H-1B, L-1, TN and related non-immigrant visas and discuss key strategies for protecting your workforce. 



    Elizabeth Evans is an Associate in the Omaha, Nebraska office of Jackson Lewis P.C.  Her practice focuses on representing U.S. and multi-national companies in employment based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions as well as advising on I-9 and worksite compliance.  She has extensive experience with a wide array of nonimmigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, TN, L-1, E, J-1 and O, as well as preparing employment-based permanent resident petitions.  She currently serves on the University of Nebraska, College of Law’s Young Alumni Council.
